Redfish are a sight fisherman’s dream and are available year round. They can be fished in many different situations and scenarios here in the Tampa Bay area. From tailing fish on grass flats during low moving water to fish cruising just outside the mangroves or over white sandbars we have it all. To make a good cast and see a redfish charge your fly and inhale it is something that never grows old. The extremely low tides coupled with clear water during late fall to early spring provide the best situations to find these fish and be able to sight fish them successfully. If the weather and visibility are poor redfish are always susceptible to the good old clouser or other baitfish pattern fished in the right areas. Second to tarpon these are my favorite species in our area. If the weather is good you can follow the fish in or out with the tides and fish for the entire day.
